Currently, you can catch Mayra Castaneda co-hosting Fourth Take on Prime TV Network Thursdays 6 PT/9 ET. But before joining the network, she started her on-air career when she packed her bags from Los Angeles and headed to Montana! She worked as a reporter and weekend anchor at KFBB 5, the ABC/FOX affiliate in Great Falls. After a year in Big Sky Country, she moved closer to home and became a general assignment reporter at KGET 17, the NBC affiliate in Bakersfield, Calif. She graduated in honors from California State University Northridge with a degree in journalism and a minor in sociology. While at CSUN, she interned at ABC 7 and KCAL 9 in Los Angeles where she covered college and pro sporting practices and games. She says interviewing Phil Jackson before he retired is a highlight of her career. When she isn’t keeping up with the latest news and entertainment you can find her on a trailhead enjoying the outdoors, spending time with her doggies or falling face first during a surf lesson. Oh, and she LOVES pizza.
